We provide leadership, community engagement and integration opportunities for high-school students that are Permanent Residents and Convention Refugees. Through the program we provide referrals to community organizations for volunteer work, employment, legal help and other settlement help. We also do weekly sessions to mentor and encourage youth to achieve their goals, as well as provide opportunities for socialization and practicing English. Youth are given bus tickets and a YMCA gym membership as well as free admission to monthly field trips to popular local recreational sites. Participants must commit to one session per week. The program runs at 382 Waterloo St - YMCA Centre Branch – Youth room. This program is funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada.
