Literacy Success: The Role of Oral Language in Literacy Development

London's Child & Youth Network is pleased to present our 5th Annual Family Literacy Conference - Literacy Success: The Role of Oral Language in Literacy Development.

Our Keynote speaker is Dr. Kathy Hirsh-Pasek, Phd, a Professor of Psychology at Temple University.  Her presentation will be about how strong language skills are the foundation for learning.

Our afternoon session will be interactive and focus on oral language skills and the school aged child presented by Dr. Lynne McKechnie a Professor at Western University as a member of the Faculty of Media Information & Media Studies and Rosamund Stooke, PhD, an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Education, Western University where she teaches courses in Children’s Literature, Literacy, and Curriculum Studies.

As our 2000wordstogrow.ca campaign comes to its conclusion, we will be taking some time to celebrate our campaign success and explore how we can continue to support the campaign in the future as a community.

We are offering this conference at no cost, lunch is provided and parking is free.
